Embrace The SpaceNot all kitchens have the ability to be open concept, but that does not mean that it has to have a closed in cramped feeling. This kitchen has 3 walls that could not be moved or "opened" in any way. Considering this during the design stages was crucial in creating a space that was enclosed, yet gave a welcoming, relaxed and roomy atmosphere.

The DetailsDetails in an enclosed space will be magnified by 10 fold! The design must add specific details scattered across the room in order to keep the eye entertained. Kitchens are gathering spaces, they are also spaces for intimate encounters. Making the space embraceable with details, encourage these expectations.

The Lighting,The number one most important element of a space, especially an enclosed space, is lighting. Light coming from above, below, task lighting, mood lighting, decorative lighting and natural light, each add their own value and intensity to a room. This kitchen shows great examples of the valuable contribution that light brings when it is correctly distributed. In this one space there are 6 different light sources!

The Finishing Touches |
Last but never least, the finishing touches ensure that the project is complete. A simple tiled backslash, hardware, paint and a few decorations that show the homeowner's personality, let everyone know that this is your kitchen, in your home. A good designer assists the homeowner with these final touches and does not insist upon selections based on book smarts. A home must reflect the people living within it, don't be afraid to let your colors shine, let your personality be the icing on the cake.
