Andy and Shannon Miller
Andy Weigand came to our rescue at a time when we needed our own personal superhero.
Several years prior we had fearlessly started a remodeling project on our house that grew to be a beast beyond our skills and way beyond our enjoyment. We asked a local lumberyard for contractor recommendations and Andy was one of several names we were given. The other 2 contractors gave our started project (a 2 story addition to the back of our house) a 10 minute once-over and confidently asserted they could complete it and were ready to start that week. Andy was the last to come for a consultation and he was at our home no less than 90 minutes. He took measurements, asked a ton of questions and pointed out his concerns and potential issues. He left that evening with plans to get back to us after reviewing his notes and making some calls. I knew that this was the man I wanted and feared we'd never hear from him because he must be thinking "these folks are nuts, what a mess."
Not only did we hear back from him, but I cannot adequately put into words what this man did for us. He brought in the township and had them do an early inspection to identify where we had created some issues with our 'do-it-yourself approach', and Andy would always work with us to try to undo as little as possible while always making sure we would have a safe and sturdy final product. He was patient, resourceful, encouraging and confident that we would get it done and it would be great.
The entire process was phenomenal. I felt like I was getting 5-star service while still getting that great family-owned business rapport. The design process with Andy, Dona and Lisa was fun and exciting. The carpenters and sub-contractors were professional, courteous and world-class. I looked forward to the days they came to the house and missed them when they were gone.
We have many, MANY more projects to go in our little fixer-upper. Some we may still attempt ourselves, but anytime I plan to hire someone for anything large or small, I'm picking up my "batphone" and calling Home Renovations by Weigand. No one else will ever work on our home.
